To use Royal Mail Responsivate you need to:

1. Register with us to Log In

Getting started is easy. Simply enter your name, job title, company name, postcode and industry sector details with us. You will be asked to enter a username and password.

Your registration details will enable you to log in quickly for future use of Royal Mail Responsivate – please keep a note of your unique password somewhere safe. This is how you will access your private reports. If you would like to read more about our privacy policy and what to do if you wish to have multiple users on your account, please visit our Ts & Cs.

Royal Mail Responsivate is free, so you can use it whenever, and as often as you like.

2. To Assess a Pack

It should take approximately fifteen minutes for you to conduct a single direct mail pack assessment.

Firstly you will need to key in some basic descriptive information about the pack that is to be assessed – using drop down menus to highlight industry sector, whether the pack is a recruitment or customer activity, and brief descriptions of the brand name and pack description. These details will personalise the report that is created for you at the end of the assessment, and help provide you with the right benchmark comparison.

Step 1 - Complete the Questionnaire
This involves physically answering a sequence of questions that have been carefully designed to mirror the way in which a consumer would view the piece. Simple answers are requested at each stage and useful prompts offer guidance about the questions you need to answer every step of the way.

If you change your mind about any answer you have the option to scroll back to amend accordingly. Any questions that are inappropriate for your pack will be automatically pre-filled as ‘not required’ and at every point you will be able to monitor your progress through the assessment – so you can see how far you’ve gone and how far there is to go.

Any assessment that is incomplete will be stored in its present state for you to come back to and complete at a later date.

At the end of your questionnaire you will be prompted to check that you’re happy with the responses, amend any answers to suit and press confirm to show that you are ready for a report to be generated.

Remember to be honest in your assessment; the consumer will not be as close to the product as you and the process exists to help you improve your material.

Please note, once you have hit CONFIRM you cannot make any alterations to your answers, and your account will be debited accordingly.

Step 2 - Your Evaluation Report
A detailed report will be available within a few seconds, giving your pack a score and outlining recommendations for enhancing its effectiveness. Reports are available in a PDF format for you to download easily.
