Introducing Responsivate


Royal Mail Responsivate is a powerful creative assessment tool, developed specifically to help marketers improve the responsiveness of their personalised direct mail. What's more, Royal Mail Responsivate is absolutely free.

Simply answer 50 expertly designed questions and you can build a personalised and comprehensive picture of your own or your competitors’ Business to Consumer direct mailpacks or one-piece mailers.

Upon completion of your questionnaire, Royal Mail Responsivate will immediately generate a full report and complete set of recommendations on how you can improve your pack – your Evaluation Report.

You can:

  • assess your mailing before committing yourself to print
  • compare your packs against your competitors’ packs and assess their results against your own, and so gain learnings to drive a competitive advantage
  • quickly determine if you are ‘missing tricks’ that could translate into sales
  • gain valuable insight into likely performance

How your pack is scored

Royal Mail Responsivate will generate scores for five key stages of ‘customer interaction’ with your mail pack:

  • Targeting
  • Attracting Attention
  • Scan Reading
  • Serious Consideration
  • Closing the Sale

At each stage, you will be asked questions about your mailpack. Responses are in the form of multiple choice answers, and each response has an appropriate score. Once you have completed a section, your score will be tallied and positioned as a percentage against the maximum possible score.

This allows you to see exactly where your pack is strong or offers room for improvement. Scores are ‘benchmarked’ against other packs in your industry sector and against all DM packs on the database. With 20 industry sectors covered, our Benchmark Database also puts your score into a specific context.

Communicate to Consumers better

Royal Mail Responsivate currently covers Business-to-Consumer (B2C) direct mail. Plans are underway to develop a Business-to-Business (B2B) version in the future.

Please note that Royal Mail Responsivate is designed specifically to evaluate the application of proven creative techniques in personalised direct response material. It will not take into account brand-building objectives or provide feedback on the actual concepts or imagery used in the pack.

Secure evaluation
